Oil fell 3% on continued doubts over the ability to come to a deal to freeze output levels.

The U.S. dollar index ended lower in mixed trade and treasuries rose as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P drifted lower on expectations for weak earnings reports next week.

Among the big names making news in the market today were Tesla, Cerberus, and Alaska Air.
