Gold jumped $15.39 to $1259.49 by about 4AM EST before it chopped back lower in London and New York, but it still ended with a gain of 0.33%. Silver rose to as high as $15.996 and ended with a gain of 0.32%.
Euro gold rose to about €1113, platinum gained $11 to $990, and copper remained at about $2.30.
Gold and silver equities saw about 2% gains at the open before they fell to see slight losses by early afternoon, but they then edged back higher into the close and ended near unchanged on the day.

Treasuries ended with slight gains after the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P recovered from early losses and ended mixed as weakness in transportation was offset by strength in healthcare and technology companies.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Credit Suisse, Apple, and Tyson Foods.
